By using Nautical Core, you agree to these terms. They’re short, fair, and written in plain English — no legal maze.
What Nautical Core is
Nautical Core provides free, browser-based maritime training tools including the Semaphore Animator, ICS Signal Flag Trainer, NavRules Comparator, Flag Size Calculator, and SVG Generator. These are study aids — not certified training programs. They are not a substitute for official maritime certification courses or flag-state approved instruction.
Acceptable use
Allowed
- Use the tools for personal study, exam prep, and professional development
- Share links to Nautical Core with colleagues and students
- Use generated SVGs in your own study materials and presentations
Not Allowed
- Do not scrape, clone, or redistribute our tools or content as your own
- Do not use the site to distribute spam or malicious content
- Do not attempt to reverse-engineer, modify, or exploit site infrastructure
No warranties
Our tools are provided “as is.” While we strive for accuracy — particularly in COLREGs and signal flag data — we cannot guarantee the content is error-free or always current with the latest IMO amendments.
Always verify critical navigational rules against official publications (COLREGS, USCG, flag-state authorities) before applying them in professional or operational contexts.
Limitation of liability
Nautical Core is not liable for any damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — this site or its tools. This includes errors in training content, service interruptions, or decisions made based on information found here.
Intellectual property
All original content on this site — including tool design, code, UI, and written guides — is owned by Nautical Core. International maritime signal standards (ICS flags, COLREGs) are public domain. Generated SVGs from our tools may be used freely for non-commercial study and educational purposes.
Beta access & service changes
Beta simulator access is limited to the first 500 users and closes May 31, 2026. Joining the waitlist does not guarantee access — we reserve the right to manage capacity and change rollout timelines.
We may modify, pause, or discontinue any tool or feature at any time without prior notice.
